Bits of Faith – The John E. Matthews Equine Foundation exists to rescue, rehabilitate, and restore at-risk horses that have suffered injury, abuse, neglect, abandonment, or other hardship while creating meaningful opportunities for healing through the horse-human connection.

We believe that horses possess a unique ability to foster trust, patience, confidence, and emotional healing. By providing a safe and compassionate environment, we offer veterans the opportunity to connect with rescued horses through grooming, groundwork, and hands-on care—allowing both horse and human to rebuild trust, regain confidence, and discover hope together.

Through education, responsible horsemanship, community involvement, and unwavering compassion, we are committed to giving every horse a second chance and every participant a place where healing can begin.
